Private Financial Aid
Academic Scholarship
- Eligibility: High School Seniors with 3.0 GPA or equivalent
- Application Process: Automatic with application to the college and receipt of transcripts
- Award Amount: $2,000 annually

Additional Notes: Renewable if student maintains 3.0 GPA or higher during previous academic year
Admissions Grant
- Eligibility: Incoming freshmen who apply after October 1st, enroll and complete their financial aid by: November 15th- Spring March 1st- Summer and Fall
- Application Process: Application of Enrollment and FAFSA
- Award Amount: $250 one time award
- Additional Notes: Grant does not roll with application to college

Alumni Referral Grant
- Eligibility: Incoming students who were referred by an alumni and present referral card
- Application Process: Automatic with application and referral card. Referral card must be presented at time of application
- Award Amount: $1,000 per academic year
- Additional Notes: Renewable with a 2.5 GPA
BIC Grant
- Eligibility: Incoming Freshman who demonstrate financial need and accept all available aid from external sources
- Application Process: FAFSA priority deadline: Spring – November 15 Summer & Fall – March 1
- Award Amount: Varies based on need and availability of funds. Award may not exceed $8,000 per academic year
- Additional Notes: Renewable annually with a 2.5 GPA and proof of at least two private scholarship applications
Culinary Competition Scholarship
- Eligibility: Full-time culinary students competing in an ACF-approved competition who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd
- Application Process: See Student Financial Planning
- Award Amount: $300-$500
- Additional Notes: One award per competition per semester
Dean's List & Director's Scholarship
- Eligibility: BIC students with cumulative GPA between 3.25-3.74 or higher for consecutive 2 semesters, minimum 24 BIC credits
- Application Process: Apply in Registrar’s Office or the Student Financial Planning Department
- Award Amount: $2,000 awarded to student with highest eligible GPA
- Additional Notes: Transfer credits do not apply
Degree Continuation
- Eligibility: Currently Admitted BIC students seeking a higher level degree; ie Associates, Bachelors or Masters
- Application Process: Complete new Enrollment Intent with the Registrar and submit copy to Student Financial Planning by the end of the 1st academic year
- Award Amount: Certificate to AAS- $2,000/year; AAS to BS- $2,000/year; BS to MS- 25% of tuition for up to 2 courses.
- Additional Notes: Renewable with a 2.5 GPA and continuous full time enrollment. Award is need based

Get on Board Grant
- Eligibility: BIC Food Enthusiast participants who enroll in a degree or certificate program at BIC
- Application Process: FAFSA by March 1. Provide proof of participation in Food Enthusiast Class(es)
- Award Amount: Certificate Students-$1,000; AAS Students- $2,000; BS Students- $1,500; Part time Degree Seeking Students- 25% of charged tuition up to 2 courses/semester
- Additional Notes: Must apply and accept all available aid. Renewable with a 2.5 GPA and continuous enrollment. Award is need based

High School Transfer Scholarship
- Eligibility: High school transfer students graduating from eligible high school with an articulation agreement with BIC. Students must start fall semester following graduation.
- Application Process: See Admissions Department for details
- Award Amount: $5,000 annually
- Additional Notes: Renewable annually with 2.5 GPA and continuous enrollment at BIC

Hospitality/Restaurant Industry Grant
- Eligibility: Incoming freshman who are currently employed in the hospitality industry
- Application Process: Enrollment in the college, a current paystub, letter of recommendation from employer and FAFSA completed by: November 15 for Spring and March 1 for Summer and Fall
- Award Amount: Certificate Students- $1,000; AAS Students- $2,000; BS Students- $1,500; Part-time Degree Seeking Students- 25% of charged tuition up to 2 courses/semester

Leadership Grant
- Eligibility: Based on leadership, academic qualities and financial need
- Application Process: Enrollment in a degree program and submit FAFSA
- Award Amount: $1,500 annually
- Additional Notes: Renewable annually with 2.5 GPA and proof of at least 2 private scholarship applications
Multiple Family Members Grant
- Eligibility: Parent/Child; Husband/Wife; or Siblings enrolled concurrently in a degree or certificate program
- Application Process: Submit Multiple Family Member Grant application at time of application to BIC along with marriage certificate or birth certificate(s). FAFSA filed by March 1
- Award Amount: $2,000 per Academic Year. Award is need based
- Additional Notes: Can not combine this award with ProStart or VICA competition, Refer A Friend or Alumni Referral Grant. Renewable with continuous full time enrollment and a 2.5 GPA
Municipal Employees Grant
- Eligibility: Federal, State & Municipal employees pursuing a graduate degree
- Application Process: Enroll in Master’s program and submit a current pay stub. File FAFSA by March 1
- Award Amount: 25% of charged tuition up to 2 courses
- Additional Notes: Renewable up to 5 semesters with a 3.0 GPA
Out-of-State Scholarship
- Eligibility: Students residing in college housing whose principle state of residency is outside of Maryland and within the United States.
- Application Process: Complete housing contract
- Award Amount: $2,000 per academic year
- Additional Notes: Renewable with new housing contract
President’s List Scholarship
- Eligibility: BIC students with cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher for 2 consecutive semesters, minimum 24 BIC credits
- Application Process: Apply in Registrar’s Office or the Student Financial Planning Department
- Award Amount: $3,000 awarded to student with highest eligible GPA
- Additional Notes: Transfer credits do not apply
Spouse/Children of Alumni
- Eligibility: Spouse and/or children under 24 years of age who enroll in a degree or certificate
- Application Process: Submit referral form at time of application and proof of marriage for spouse; or birth certificate for child. Adoption documents may also be used. FAFSA filed by March 1
- Award Amount: AAS or BS enrollment $2,000 per Academic Year. Certificate enrollment $1,000 per Academic Year. Awards are need based
- Additional Notes: Cannot combine this award with ProStart or VICA competition, Refer A Friend or Alumni Referral Grant. Renewable with continuous full time enrollment and a 2.5 GPA
Student Referral Grant
- Eligibility: Current fully matriculated students who refer a friend who is Admitted and completes 1st Academic Year
- Application Process: See Admissions Department for Application which must be submitted at time of application to the college
- Award Amount: $500 for each eligible referral

Additional Notes: Award is disbursed after referred friend completes the 1st Academic Year

Transfer Scholarship
- Eligibility: Transfer students with an earned AAS or BS from a college with an articulation agreement, must apply within one year of graduating
- Application Process: Automatic with application to college
- Award Amount: $5,000 annually
- Additional Notes: Renewable annually with 2.5 GPA and proof of at least 2 private scholarship applications

VICA and ProStart Members Scholarship
- Eligibility: High School Seniors who are members of VICA or ProStart and start the fall following H.S. graduation
- Application Process: Submit proof of membership to Student Financial Planning Department
- Award Amount: $3,000 per academic year
- Additional Notes: Renewable with 2.5 GPA and continuous enrollment. May require community service activities

Vocational Club- ProStart National Competition Scholarship
- Eligibility: High School Juniors and Seniors who compete and place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a national competition and enroll in a degree program
- Application Process: Submit Certificate
- Award Amount: 1st Place- $15,000-$23,000 depending on degree per academic year; 2nd Place- 50% of published tuition and fees per academic year; 3rd Place- 50% of tuition per academic year
- Additional Notes: Juniors may hold a scholarship until graduation, but cannot win another award in Senior year. Renewable with full-time continuous enrollment and 3.0 GPA. May not combine with any other BIC award

Vocational Club- ProStart State Competition Scholarship
- Eligibility: High School Juniors and Seniors who compete and place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a state competition and enroll in a degree program
- Application Process: Submit Certificate
- Award Amount: 1st Place- 50% of published tuition and fees per academic year; 2nd Place- $5,000 per academic year; 3rd Place- $4,000 per academic year
- Additional Notes: Juniors may hold a scholarship until graduation, but cannot win another award in Senior year. Renewable with full-time continuous enrollment and 3.0 GPA. May not combine with any other BIC award
