Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Science in Culinary Management degree from Baltimore International College is one of the only four-year culinary degrees offered in the United States. This gives you additional experience, education and a competitive edge upon entering into the culinary industry.

Students can enroll part-time or full-time and choose one of the following tracks in Professional Cooking, Professional Cooking and Baking, or Professional Baking and Pastry. The curriculum gives students the opportunity to build leadership, critical thinking and managerial skills to fully prepare them for successful careers as managers and head chefs in commercial foodservices, restaurants, banquet and catering services, schools, and hospitals. Program Goals:

Graduates of these programs will be able to:

  1. Safety and sanitation practices in a kitchen environment..
  2. Cooperation with others and maintenance of an efficient environment.
  3. Preparation of foods using proper tools, recipes, measuring/weighing techniques, and cooking procedures.
  4. Preparation of finished products that are uniform and consistent, and good in appearance, color, texture and taste.
  5. Proper lab clean-up skills including labeling and storing prepared and unused foods.
  6. Understanding of and experience with financial and operational responsibilities in the culinary industry.
