Student Resources

Baltimore International College has many resources available to students, meant to complement and make the time spent as a BIC student easier. These provisions include everything from services offered by the Office of Student Services to computer labs and the health center. Students can also get information about required textbooks (which are available through the BIC bookstore), employment opportunities and housing and move-in schedules.

Office of Student Services

The Office of Student Services (OSS) offers general advisement for all students, as well as peer tutoring on request and a variety of referrals for support services. In addition, the OSS provides many outlets for students' recreation and leisure activities including the Student Union, activities sponsored by Baltimore International College, and information about cultural programs around the city.

Student discipline is also handled by the OSS, and any questions about BIC's Code of Conduct, Judicial Board, sexual harassment policy or other disciplinary matters should be directed to this office.

The Office of Alumni Development also provides ongoing support to BIC's alumni in good standing through activities such as surveys to find out where alumni are currently living and working, alumni reunions, mailings about the College's growth and involvement in BIC-sponsored events such as Open Houses, resumé referrals and career fairs.

The Business Office

The Business Office is located on the first floor of the Merchants Club Building. All student account inquiries such as charges, billing, payments and parking are handled in this office. The Business Office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Computer Labs

Computer Labs are located in the Commerce Exchange building and Dublin Hall, and are open to all faculty, staff and students. BIC offers a wide variety of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and other software for educational use.

Health Center

Dublin Hall residents are required to become members of the Maryland General Healthcare Center, an accessible out-patient health care service devoted to helping students meet their health care needs. Students may take advantage of many free services including clinician visits, screening clinics and sample medications. Prescriptions and other services are offered at a reduced fee.

It is recommended that commuter students enroll at the health center. It should be noted that membership in the health center does not replace full health insurance coverage.
