Accreditation by American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC) assures that a program is meeting at least a minimum of standards and competencies set for faculty, curriculum, and student services.

ACFEFAC accredits postsecondary programs, defined as those awarding bachelor degrees, associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in culinary arts and baking and pastry arts. Programs must be postsecondary and authorized as such under applicable state law or comparable government unit. THE ACFEFAC is recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

BIC’s postsecondary Associates programs are accredited. The accreditation process includes: submission of self study (including standard 8.0 program Assessment), team visit response by the Director of ACFFEAC, with appropriate follow-up actions and award of certificates. An annual report is required until the next scheduled accreditation visit.

Maryland Independent College and University Association (MICUA)

Baltimore International College is a member of the Maryland Independent College and University Association (MICUA). MICUA is a voluntary association that provides public policy leadership in support of independent higher education, fosters cooperative efforts among the member institutions and Maryland's public colleges and universities, serves as the official liaison between independent higher education and the State and Federal governments, and informs the citizens about the significance of its seventeen member institutions.
