Prospective students wishing to be admitted to Baltimore International College (BIC) first need to speak with an Admissions Representative to arrange a visit to the campus. Students then need to complete and submit the BIC application, along with a $50 non-refundable application fee to the Admissions Office.
All entering freshmen must provide an official high school transcript demonstrating a standard high school diploma showing their graduation date from a high school accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education or a regional accrediting institution recognized by the United States Department of Education; or furnish an official copy of their General Education Diploma (GED) certificate with scores.
Students who earned a high school diploma through a home school must provide an official transcript of completion of high school requirements verified by the local school district and/or state-accrediting agency.
In lieu of a high school transcript, students who have attended an accredited post-secondary school may provide an official copy of one of the following:
(a) An official college transcript with 16 credits, with a grade of C or better in the BIC equivalent of Math 101 and English 101
(b) An official college transcript for an earned associate, bachelor's or post-graduate degree from an accredited college
(c) Form DD214 Release from Active Duty, indicating graduation from a high school
Credits may only be transferred from a regionally- or state-accredited college or university.
Additionally, all degree-seeking students must forward official copies of all SAT, ACT or CLEP scores as applicable. Students who have not taken these exams, or whose scores are less than 430 on the Critical Reading SAT, 430 on the Writing SAT, 420 on the Mathematics SAT; composite ACT score of 16 or 50th percentile or above on the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) in Math and English Composition with Essay (CLEP must be completed within five years of the BIC class start date), must take Baltimore International College's Assessment Exam*.
Upon receipt of the application and all supporting documentation, a decision will be made concerning acceptance to BIC. If an applicant is seeking financial assistance, he/she will be forwarded the student financial planning forms. Domestic applicants are accepted on a rolling basis.
At the time of acceptance, all applicants will be asked to submit a non-refundable $100 enrollment fee.
Baltimore International College reserves the right to accept an applicant on a conditional basis. Conditional acceptance and enrollment typically occurs when an applicant appears to be qualified, but has not been able to complete his/her admissions process. For example, a student who cannot provide proof of graduation from high school may be conditionally accepted until BIC receives the high school transcript, which must be received within 30 days of the class start. If a student's transcript is not received within 30 days of the class start, the student will be administratively dismissed from BIC.
Applicants who are accepted on a conditional basis automatically become fully matriculated upon satisfying the condition under which they were accepted.
