In order for students to be considered for transfer credits, an official transcript(s) must be submitted at least three weeks prior to the semester they intend to start and must submit the catalog with complete course descriptions from the college where the courses were taken. A course syllabus may be requested.
A student must have earned a “C” or better to qualify for transfer of credit and the number of credit hours must parallel the course from which the student wishes to be exempt.
Students may transfer courses earned in an associate degree program from an accredited institution in the hospitality field into the junior level of the Baltimore International College’s baccalaureate programs in Culinary Management or Hospitality Management. Each college transcript will be evaluated and the course of study identified for the student to successfully complete the degree requirements of the College. (A bridge semester may be required for some students). For consideration of transfer, science, nutrition and/or culinary arts and management courses must have been taken within ten years of the class start date. ServSafe certificates must have been earned within the past five years.
Advanced Placement test credit may also be transferred if the student scores a three or better. There are no limitations on other courses. The College also considers credit earned from the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP). A student must have scored above the 50th percentile in a general education course, and the exam must have been completed within five years of the class start date.
Credits, not grades, are transferable. Acceptance of transfer of credit will be at the discretion of the College’s Administration. Not more than 50 percent of program requirements may be accepted
in transfer.
Students with transfer credits may elect to take additional courses to maintain full-time student status as required for federal and state financial aid.
