Admissions requirements and acceptance procedures for international students are the same as those for students who are citizens of the United States, with the exception that international students whose country of origin’s primary language is not English must supply evidence of satisfactory command of the English language through submission of a TOEFL score of 75 or higher on a computer-based test or 500 or higher on the written test, or taking and passing the College’s assessment placement exam or graduating from an American high school or college.
BIC has been an approved Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) school since August 2002. SEVIS is an electronic system to collect, maintain and track information relative to international students as mandated by Section 641 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA), Public Law 104-208. This system is used to process the international student’s Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) that is required for entrance into the United States. The international student must provide an Affidavit of Support (Form I-34) to the Admissions Office. The Affidavit of Support verifies funds will be available to the student for educational and living expenses while studying in the United States. The international student must also submit form I-901, Fee Remittance for F Non-immigrants, and pay the $200 processing fee. This form is available online at www.FMJfee.com. Once accepted, the prospective students should apply to the American Consulate in their country for an F-1 Student Visa. Contact the Admissions Office for more information.
