Accreditation and Articulation Agreements

Accreditation

The mission of Baltimore International College, an independent, not-for-profit four-year college, accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association, approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, and programmatically accredited by the American Culinary Federation, is to provide students with the education and experience needed to pursue progressive careers within the international hospitality industry.

Statement of Non-Discrimination

Maryland Independent College and University Association (MICUA)

Baltimore International College is a member of the Maryland Independent College and University Association (MICUA). MICUA is a voluntary association that provides public policy leadership in support of independent higher education, fosters cooperative efforts among the member institutions and Maryland's public colleges and universities, serves as the official liaison between independent higher education and the State and Federal governments, and informs the citizens about the significance of its seventeen member institutions. Articulation Agreements

Baltimore International College accepts students coming from institutions that have articulation agreements with BIC. The College is also receptive to creating new agreements with institutions with comparable coursework and curriculum.

*ProStart School - ProStart is high school curriculum that focuses on culinary arts and restaurant management, and is the Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation's school-to-career program developed in partnership with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. ProStart is recognized by the Maryland State Department of Education as an official Career and Technology Education program.

~Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) - BOCES provides cost-effective shared services, including career training for high school students, special education, alternative schools, technology education, and dozens of programs to expand educational opportunity and help New York state school districts operate more efficiently.

^SkillsUSA - SkillsUSA is a national-nonprofit organization serving high school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. It was formerly known as VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).

Post-Secondary Schools and Colleges

Baltimore International College has also established articulation agreements with many post-secondary schools and colleges. This enables graduates of these schools to transfer earned credits directly into BIC's bachelor degree programs in Culinary Management or Hospitality Management. Students coming from institutions with articulation agreements with Baltimore International College should contact their Admissions Representatives.
